Chatter: Stereotyping the biggest problem Muslims have with the media?

Muslims are portrayed negatively in the U.S. media frequently, but is that the biggest problem Muslim Americans face with the press? Or is it that there are very few Muslim reporters in U.S. newsrooms capable of covering the positive side of the Muslim community?

  1. Out reach to the various media outlets is a must for every American Muslim community across the U.S. Out reach can be tricky though. It has to be a well balanced diet of us talking less but w/meaning & listening more. It also has to be a long term relationship of community building. From that long term relationship of community building friendships blossom, Alhumdulillah. (That’s a fact for me. :).)

More educated, professional journalists of Muslim backgrounds (whether they are practicing or not. Note, I wrote professional aka not necessarily someone of Muslim background w/a vendetta) via print, video, internet media outlets.

Humanizing the Muslim humans is key.
