What do you think of the Muslim Brotherhood doing so well in the Egyptian Elections?

  1. I think that revolutions take time, and the the Muslim Brotherhood is well-established and well organized in comparison to many of the liberal and secular parties. A lot of the newer parties have formed only since the fall of Mubarak. Again, it will take time for them to organize. Also, the Brothers will need to prove that their policies can deal with and meet the needs of the people. If they are not able to address the underlying causes that initially sent Egyptians into the streets by the millions asking for an end to the regime, I believe they will ultimately fail, even if they do so in office. It will also depend on whether or not they work in collusion with the military. If they choose to do this, my suspicion is that the people will not stand for it, particularly given the second round of major protests in Egypt recently that demanded an end to military rule.
