The Tucson Minaret is the premier source for news about Tucson’s Muslim community. In addition to news articles, opinion columns, poems and cooking recipes, the Tucson Minaret publishes the work of Arizona’s Muslim prisoners and they read the printed version as well.
Amer Taleb founded and runs the online and print editions of the Tucson Minaret. He also interns at Arizona Public Media’s “Arizona Week” TV program, is a reporter/photographer for Arizona Assurance and UA Foundation, a contributing reporter/photographer for the Arizona Daily Wildcat (formerly the Science/Technology reporter), has written for Muslim Voice and he founded and used to run a sports blog featuring the University of Arizona football players and their academic degrees.
He’ll be an apprentice at the Arizona Daily Star covering politics this summer. Amer is a journalism sophomore at the University of Arizona.
